I’m not even sure what to say about today. I’m in a strange mood – it’s a generally happy and good mood, suppressed somewhat by a bit of contemplativeness. I’m not sure how much more descriptive I can be than that; nevertheless, it’s not bad in any way. I quite like this mood, actually. It’s due to the day that I’ve had today, so I suppose I should explain that some more and maybe you’ll understand how I’m feeling right now a bit better.
I woke up in a pretty good mood, not overly happy, but just sort of…there. I didn’t really have a mood, I suppose. I went on the computer for a while, took a shower, got changed and all that fun stuff, and then decided that I was going to go out to the Gospel Lighthouse. See, a week ago or so, I made a deal with myself, concerning this: I wanted the Seven Places CD, but I also didn’t want to spend my money. Normally I’d just download their songs off the internet and burn them onto a CD, but I could only find a few of their songs. So I made a deal with myself that if I got a job, I would go out and buy the CD. Seeing as I am now employed, I decided to keep my word to myself and go out and buy it. I took the car and headed over to the store, looked at the CDs for a…Continue Reading
I’m not quite sure what to say about today. Some stuff happened, and then some more stuff happened, and then, when all things seemed done, some more stuff happened. That’s about it. I mean, this wasn’t bad stuff or good stuff in particular, just stuff.
Right now I’m listening to a CD by a Christian band called Black Talon. Lana told me to listen to it for her – I’m not quite sure why, but she wanted my opinion of it. Her dad’s the band manager or something like that. Anyways, I’m on the second song of ten, and so far they’re reminding me of a cross between Linkin Park and Pillar. It’s sort of like a heavy hip-hop almost. I’m not sure what exactly to classify it, because it’s definitely not the typical hip-hop, but there’s too much rap to call it punk or anything like that.
And now that I’m into the third song, it’s more of a worship song than anything – which is really strange. Their drums aren’t that bad, let’s put it that way. I like some of the rhythms they have going in the songs. Their guitar is a little too trebley for my tastes and has a bit too much distortion – it makes it sound like they’re trying to be an electronica band or something. Their singer isn’t that bad, and he sounds like the guy off Pillar – but I think the band could really use a screamer in the background.…Continue Reading
Yet another day goes by. I haven’t done much today except read some online comics and listen to music. I played bass for a bit as well, but it didn’t hold my interest for very long. I’ve basically just been relaxing, and it feels great.
To expand a bit on what I just said, I was looking for some more online comics to read, and I found one called “Adventurers!” It sounds like a really cheesy title, and believe me – the title fits the comic. But it’s still pretty good. It had me laughing, not like some comics where they’re just not funny. This one’s about video game characters, and plays on some of the quirky little things that video games do – like how bad guys always carry new weapons that you can pick up after you defeat them, but they never seem to use them on you. Or, of course, there’s also the times where there’s this really impressive attack – and then it does only a tiny bit of damage. Anyways, I’ve never really been a big fan of RPG games, but I still think it’s a pretty funny comic. So I’m working my way through reading it.
I’ve also been downloading some music by Anberlin and Dead Poetic. I just heard about them not too long ago, and I really like them. Sometimes the singer gets a bit annoying, but the screaming makes up for that, I suppose. It’s better than a band Jordan told…Continue Reading
Hmm, it looks like there were some problems with Blogger for a while there. I couldn’t get on to make a new entry for a while. But it looks like it’s working now, which is good.
Today was a pretty normal day, except for a bit of a timetable switch to accomodate the Grade 9s and the Grade 11-12s taking Music going to St. Mark’s church to play in the Kiwanis Festival. We had three periods before lunch instead of two, and saved homeroom for the end of the day. Blah blah blah. Nobody really cares anyway.
During lunch, Mr. G went to the doctor’s office to find out what the big splotches on his face are. He’s been getting little red dots on his face that look similar to acne or chicken pox or something. Apparently, the doctor thought it was a cold sore that got infected from bacteria and was thus spreading. The doc said it was contagious if you touched it. Since I have no plans of touching Mr. G’s face (or any other part of his body, for that matter) anytime soon, there’s not much chance that I’ll get anything more on my face other than the acne I already have. Phew!
After Mr. G got back, the girls convinced him to let us go watch the Music students play instead of doing Parenting. He finally agreed, and we headed over there, but they were already done playing by the time we got there. We ended…Continue Reading
There’s not much to say today. All my big news was yesterday. I’ve been fiddling around a bit with my mp3 player, and I think I’ve got it set up the way I want now. It’s working pretty well, and I know it will make it a lot easier for the ride home from school on the bus. It’ll be especially handy if I ever miss the transfer at the mall; then I can just walk home with music all the way there. It also won’t ever skip, which is great, because my discman was getting horrible with anti-skip. It used to work fine, but lately I’ve been having troubles with it skipping, especially on the bumpy bus rides. Even sometimes while walking, it would skip, which shouldn’t really happen.
But oh well. I’ve got my mp3 player now, so that won’t be happening anymore. I also have space for about three and a half CDs on there, which works out to roughly 50 tracks depending on the filesize of each track. The great thing that I found out is that I can put all my music in separate folders, but the shuffle feature can skip between all the folders or just inside one folder. So if I want to just hear one CD, I can limit it to one folder, whereas if I’m in an adventurous mood, I can make it shuffle between all the folders (wow, what an adventure!). It’s going to work great, let me tell you.…Continue Reading
I’m in a strange mood today. I have no clue what I’m feeling. I also have no clue what to write here. For lunch I had a peanut butter and grape jam sandwich as well as some reheated Kraft Dinner from yesterday. It really didn’t go together that well, but oh well. I watched Star Wars Episode 2 as well, just because I felt like it. I was going to watch Episode 1, but it turns out that my sister decided to tape over it with some stupid Trading Spaces episode. Oh well. Once Episode 3 comes out, they’ll probably have some deal with all three episodes in a box set, so I’ll buy that then. Besides, Episode 1 isn’t that great anyways.
That’s about all I have to say about this entire day. Sad, isn’t it? Absolutely nothing happened, other than waking up about 8:30 and almost screaming at the clock. I mean, I’m so tired and I can’t sleep for more than 9 hours on a day when I could sleep the whole day and it wouldn’t even matter! I’m so frustrated with whatever the heck is doing this to my body. I’m so tired, and yet my body says, “Hey, let’s screw around with him by waking up when he doesn’t even have to.” I woke up this morning to a racking headache that decided not to go away the night before. It caused me a sleepless night, but also cut it short at the same time.…Continue Reading
I wasn’t planning on posting here today, but since the Tozers are late yet again (what else is new?), I decided to head on down to the computer and engage in my two favourite pastimes: writing and listening to music. I just burned the newest Underoath CD since I’ve been planning to do that for a while now. I wanted to wait to see if I’d get it for Christmas, but I didn’t so I burned it. Jordan got it and last night at my aunt and uncle’s place, the anti-action was heating up, so we went out to the van and listened to the CD a couple times.
Last night was really boring. Everyone just sat their talking and I was starving – my stomach kept growling. Finally we all went for the food, and and it got boring again. Jordan and I went out to the van after the food. The van’s pretty sweet; it’s the van that the Tozers borrowed from one of their friends or co-workers or something for their trip up to Ottawa. They were supposed to pick me up at 10:00 today. It’s now 11:30… I called their house about 11:00 and Bethany said Aunt Lynn and Uncle Dave decided not to sleep at all last night, so then they decided that sleeping in was better than leaving early. So they should be picking me up about 11:45 – so I’ll go upstairs at 12:00 to be ready for them, I suppose.
Anyways, I…Continue Reading
