Endings and New Beginnings

Yesterday was awesome. At least most of it, that is. Not much happened in the morning, then around lunchtime Melissa called and asked if I wanted to hang out with her and Josh at the mall. He had to buy clothes apparently. I said sure, because it was better than being bored at home (that’s always my reason, but that’s because I’m always bored at home, I suppose). They picked me up, and we headed over to the mall to get clothes for him. I won’t bore you all with the details, but mainly it was Melissa that picked out the clothes for him, and then he bought them. It was fun, though, I guess, mainly because I got to make fun of both of them. After about an hour, they dropped me back off at home, and that was that. Of course, Josh didn’t know what was going on tonight.

I haven’t mentioned anything about the plans for last night in my blog here just in case Josh or Zeth reads this. I don’t think either of them do, but I decided to be careful just the same. You see, I’ve been hanging out a lot with Steph and Kristy and driving them around places. Why? Well, for the past couple of weeks, they’ve been planning a going-away party for Josh and Zeth. And last night was the night it all came together. It was a surprise party, so I made sure not to mention anything – just because…Continue Reading

Work and, um, Wednesday

Well, I’ve missed two days this time. It completely slipped my mind on Tuesday, mainly because I had absolutely nothing to write about. Nothing interesting happened the night before, and since I was working from 5:45 PM – 12:00 midnight, I couldn’t exactly write anything then. Yesterday I slept in until about 10:30, then got occupied and forgot completely about blogging. Meh. I’ll just quickly talk about the past three days – it shouldn’t take too long. I’ll try and keep it short.

First off, Tuesday night was interesting. Seeing as it was my first shift at Cineplex, I was a little nervous. It was mainly because I barely knew what to do, so I really had no idea what to prepare for. It didn’t turn out to be too bad. Nikki was there showing me what to do for most of the night, and as the night went on it got easier as I found out that my job was fairly routine and monotonous. Basically, I rip tickets before the movies start. And as they start, I have to go around and close the doors and such. Once the movies are in, I basically check all of them every half hour, along with the bathrooms and arcade room. It’s a little hectic when the movies are starting, but once that’s over, there’s suddenly nothing to do really. Then, as the movies get out and people leave, I start cleaning. Then the whole process gets repeated once more just for…Continue Reading

Mildly Interesting (But Not Really)

There’s not much to say today, so I’ll keep this short. After my contemplative exploits of last night, nothing significant happened, so there’s no need to expand on yesterday. Today I had to get up early to drive my mom to work, so that I could have the car for today. Using it, I first went to North Park to pick up my timetable for next year. Right now, for both semesters I have a spare first period. That’s not exactly what I’d like – I’d rather have it last period – but at least it wasn’t in the middle of the day. As it stands now, I don’t have to come into school until 10:30 or something, which is pretty sweet. Unfortunately, the Grade 12 Physics course that I wanted wasn’t on there. That means they either missed it, or I didn’t get into it. So now I have to wait until the end of August in order to try and correct it. That was fairly frustrating, but perhaps I can still pick it up.

After picking up my timetable, I headed over to my bank to do a few things there. First of all, I wanted to change my savings account into a chequing account – the main reason for that would be so I could write cheques to tithe what I earn. I found out, though, that the savings account I have allows me to order cheques anyways, so there’s no point in even switching it. I…Continue Reading

Reptiles, Rivers, and Running

Well, all you lazy bums that come here still haven’t bothered to start on this contest, I guess. Then again, I don’t think many people (if any) come here every day, so perhaps you people just haven’t seen it yet. Whatever the case is, you guys had better find that hidden phrase, or else you’ll be responsible for making me fat – since I’ll have to give myself the prize. Then you’ll all be held responsible for my early death due to high cholesterol and eventual heart failure. Shame on you.

Update: Never mind. Kristin wins! Hooray!

But anyways, yesterday was pretty cool. I woke up, went through my morning routine and such, and then my mother took me out to get some pants for work at Mark’s Work Wearhouse. I normally wouldn’t step foot in that store, except that the lady at Cineplex made it clear that I had to wear a certain type of pants, available there. So whatever. We couldn’t find it them in the store, so we had to order them, etc. That was the boring part of my day.

I got home and was just relaxing – writing yesterday’s entry, actually – when Steph called. My first thought was, “Oh man, here we go again.” But anyways, she asked if I wanted to do something, I told her no, because I always say that, and then she told me about how she and Kristy wanted to burn some CDs and wondered if they could come…Continue Reading

Caaaaandypants!

Well, I don’t have much to talk about today, so I’ll keep it short. Last night was pretty fun. I went to youth, and it was pretty awesome. Meagan was back from Scotland, so she told us all about her missions trip there and such, squeezing a thirty minute, five point sermon into about ten minutes. Afterwards, a bunch of us went to Tim Hortons, and we sat there and did nothing until we figured out something else to do. Kristin, Michelle, and Bethany wanted to walk to Michelle’s house, so they left, leaving Steph, Kristy, Jonathan, and me at Tim Hortons to drive over whenever we felt like it. We walked over to Zehrs first, though, and picked up the pictures that Steph and Kristy were getting copied. They must have about ten million pictures by now, but I guess they need them.

After that, we went back to my car, and Jonathan left in his van to go home so he could get up at the crack of dawn to go to his job that he has roofing houses. He could pass for a Mexican these days with the tan that he has. But anyways, I drove Steph and Kristy to Kristy’s house so they could get some stuff, and then found out that they needed even more photos copied or something. That put the total up to ten million, six hundred thousand and thirty-three, but whatever. I drove them over to the other Zehrs at the Brantford…Continue Reading

Interviews, Driving Lessons, and Bizarre Plans

Well, yesterday was mildly interesting. The interview at Sears went pretty well, I thought. I just have no idea if I have a chance of getting hired. The guy interviewing me seemed to be interested; however, he wasn’t in charge of hiring in the right department. Since the lady who had called was on vacation and left his extension on her voicemail message, I had called him to see if he could help. However, this lady was in charge of the sales associate positions, and he was in charge of sales support. So, he told me he’d forward it on to the people in the sales associate department – that’s not an encouraging statement, but it was all I could really do. I assume that since he had decided to set up an interview with me that he won’t just hand them my resume and application and say nothing, but rather tell them what he thought of me as well. And as I said before, he seemed interested. So it’s not a total loss or anything, it’s just completely uncertain what the outcome will be. It’s in God’s hands, though.

After the interview, I headed over to Central and went upstairs. Everyone was in the middle of prayer, so I slipped in as quietly as I could and just sat down on the couch. After they were finished, they asked me how the interview went and such, and we had a jolly good time talking about jobs and stuff –…Continue Reading

Bloggish Celebrations and Adultish Laughter

Well, this is my 292nd post on this thing. I suppose I could have just not said anything and left the surprise until my 300th, but I was afraid I would forget and just not have any celebration at all. So lets have a toast to my 292nd post on this friggin’ massive blog of mine. Cheers!

Now that the festivities are over until another 8 posts go by, let me tell you just a tiny bit about my day. To make a short story even shorter, nothing much has happened. I got up, had a shower and got dressed, then was pleasantly greeted by my father who asked why I hadn’t called Sears yet. My sister went and took her driver’s test to get her G license, passed, and is now driving like a maniac (well, actually she’s upstairs, but oh well). I called Sears once the store actually opened, got the lady’s voice mail, and it said she was on holidays until August 8th or 9th. She then rhymed off the extension of another supervisor, which I then called and left a message on his voice mail. I called Marco Sales as well, and found out that the lady I thought was looking at my resume actually had an employee doing that for the summer instead. So I got patched through to her voice mail, left a message there, and am now thoroughly confused, waiting for someone to call me back.

Once my sister came home from her…Continue Reading
