The Buffet of Kings

Today was pretty strange. Not too much has happened, but the pastor’s sermon today could have easily come straight from the entry I posted yesterday. He spoke from Acts 5:17-42, and especially from 33-41 with the part where Gamaliel speaks. His basic points were that Human Attempts will Fail, Heaven’s Agenda is Favour, and the Holy Anointed will Flourish (note the nifty use of alliteration). Except for the third point, the pastor’s sermon basically lined up exactly with what I said yesterday. I was pretty astounded. Hey, at least I know I’m right now – although I knew that before anyways. It was just kind of confirmation for me, so that was pretty cool.

After church, my sister went off to work, and my parents, Mrs. Haacke, and I went out to King’s Buffet for lunch. There I saw some of the people from Central, so I went over and said hello to them. The time was spent mostly with my parents and Mrs. Haacke talking, and me eating. I expected that when I agreed to go, though. The reason I went is because otherwise I’d have to find some lunch for myself at home. The most interesting thing that happened there, though, was when I dropped a piece of pork on my pants. I was cutting something and then my knife slipped, knocking the slice of pork right onto my crotch. It was a little awkward. I didn’t say anything, and nobody noticed, so I quickly scooped it back up onto my plate and then grabbed my napkin to wipe it up off my pants. There was still a bunch of sauce that I couldn’t get off, but fortunately my shirt covered it up so nobody could see it. Note to self: laying your napkin on your lap when eating is a good idea.

Nothing else has really happened today, so there’s not much else I can write about. I had a headache all of yesterday, and it seems to still have stuck around today, so I’m not sure what’s up with that. I thought about taking an aspirin or whatever, but I like to stay off medication as much as possible. I figure as long as my body can handle it, I might as well let it fight it off rather than drugging myself up. It’s not a real bad headache, just sort of a pain that comes every couple of minutes, lasts about a minute, and then goes away again. It’s just really annoying. I think it may have to do with the fact that I haven’t gotten a lot of good sleep lately. I’m not sure why, either. I just can’t get comfortable, and when I finally do, there seems to be too much light in my room for me to get to sleep. I may revert to what I did a while ago which seemed to work pretty well. What I would do is just put a shirt or something over top of my alarm clock to cover up the light coming from that. It would at least reduce the amount so that I could sleep better. I haven’t done it in a while, though, so I may as well try it again and see if it helps. But anyways, this entry is pretty boring, so I should just end it off here. Ta-ta.
