Whistle While You Work

Well, I had a great day. I worked for 6 1/2 hours and that’s about it. Luckily, my job never requires me to be there earlier than 10:30, so I got to sort of sleep in until 9 today. Because I’m sleeping in the basement right now, all I’ve got is this really old clock with this alarm thing on it. It sounds like those school bells or fire alarms that ring a bell. So I woke up to that this morning. I set it for 9, and so it gracefully woke me up at 8:45 for some strange reason. Either I didn’t have it set right or it’s just stupid. I mean, what kind of clock do you have to wind up these days? It’s obviously crap.

Anyways, work was pretty slow today. I was working 10:30-5, and Sarah was working 10:30-2, with Kyle coming in for 12:30-5. At 4:00 Cheri came in as well; she usually works days, but I think she asked for more hours or something. But yeah. Kyle kept making stupid excuses like, “Oh boy, do you hear those noises in the back alleyway? I should go investigate. I’ll bring my lighter too, just in case I have to defend myself.” I’m just like, “Kyle, just ask to go have a smoke and get it over with. Jeez.” I see right through his excuses. Anyways, he also went next door to the convenient store and bought some crossword lottery tickets. He gave me one and said that if I won, he’d give me a share of the profits. Unfortunately, I didn’t win. Neither did he.

So that’s pretty much my whole day. The entire day was wasted at work, but at least it puts food on the table. It did that literally tonight; my dad and I were the only ones home so I brought home two Mesquite Chicken subs. They were excellent as usual, because I made them, of course. Of course I completely forgot to hold off on the cheese for my dad’s sub. He’s lactose intolerant and it completely slipped my mind. Oh well. He suffered tonight for a good cause.

That’s it for now. Over and out.
