Wow! I never expected this. I just got an email from a friend I haven’t spoken to in at least 3 or 4 months. It just kind of popped up out of nowhere. That’s pretty awesome!
This guy is a person I met online a long time ago. We’ve known each other for at least 2 or 3 years, and, both being interested in web design, we worked on stuff together and made awesome stuff. We had this one place called The-Lounge that had hundreds of members – maybe even thousands, I’m not sure – and was just a place to hang out and talk about anything you felt like talking about. It was awesome. It eventually got shut down for some legal reasons, but we kept going on the web design sphere, creating our own websites but still maintaining a close friendship with each other. If I put up a few links to my friends’ sites, his was always the first up there, and it was the same on his site as well.
But alas, nothing ever seems to remain constant, especially on the Internet, and he decided to get away and spend some more time working on his social life instead. There was a girl he liked, plus his car and his room he was redoing. He decided (a few times, actually) to just get off the Internet completely, because he was “hooked” on it. He left a few times, and eventually came back, but the most recent one seemed to be permanent. We said our goodbyes, and I really didn’t expect to see him again. It was sad, but understandable.
But here he is again! It’s pretty crazy. He decided he has his life under control again I suppose, and is ready to get back into the tangle of the Web. He also asked me if I was interested in starting up a project together, to which I certainly agreed. I need something to keep my attention, and he’s an awesome web designer. I’ll likely create the core scripts for whatever we decide to do, the stuff that makes it all work, and he’ll probably create the layout for the site – the part you actually get to see. He’s awesome at designing sites, and if I may say so myself, I’m awesome at creating the code that makes it all work (ugh, I’m trying really hard not to say anything technical – I’m trying not to lose anyone here). Anyways, I can’t wait to see what we do – whatever it is, it’ll be sweet, I’ll tell you that. We know each other well, and we work well together. I’m sure we’ll come up with something that makes everything else out there pale in comparison. I just hope he’s not too rusty with his design skills…
