Day Of Relaxation

Today was, thankfully, a much less eventful day than yesterday was. I got up and had a shower, then went downstairs and found that my sister was already on the computer. So I started wrapping my presents and got them all done and put under the tree. That was a huge accomplishment in itself; it was a big relief when I put the last one under the tree and realized that I was finally done everything I had to do for Christmas.

After that was done, I went downstairs and did all the usual stuff I regularly do on the computer, like checking my email and going through the list of bookmarked sites that I hit daily (whenever possible, of course). When that was finished, I got bored. So I worked on the project I started way back in the summer, I think. Perhaps it was in September, but anyways, it was somewhere around there.

At the risk of confusing everyone reading this since, as far as I know, you’re not web designers, let’s just say I’ve been working on a big project that allows you to organize files through a web browser. It works a lot like Windows Explorer, allowing you to move, copy, rename, and delete files. It’s been so much of a challenge, though. Most of the time I’ve spent working on the project has been to figure out how to get the list of folders on the left side to work properly. You have no idea how many hours I’ve spent trying to get the folders to work just right, allowing you to click on the plus and minus signs to open and close the folders. It’s a masterpiece – in my opinion anyways.

But yeah, that project is still far from done. I worked on that for most of the day, actually. Most people would likely find it boring, but I don’t really care. I find it fun and relaxing, and best of all, it’s something I can do while listening to my music. That just makes everything so much better.

Anyways, after my parents got home, the whole family got in the car and drove over to King’s Buffet – the new restaurant in town where White Rose used to be. It was pretty nice; it reminded me a lot of West Garden Buffet, but it was a little fancier. The waiters had nicer uniforms on, and the food tasted a lot better. It’s also a lot bigger than West Garden; I overheard another customer asking the waiter how much it seated and he said there were 200 seats. The place is definitely big enough, although I would have liked it if the tables were spaced out just a little bit more; I sort of had trouble getting into my chair with a plate of food in my hand since there was a chair from the next table over right behind mine. Oh well. I enjoyed it quite a bit all the same.

Tonight I don’t really have anything planned. My mom needs the basement to wrap her presents, which means I have to be out of the room – so the computer is off-limits. She shouldn’t take too long to wrap them, though, so I should still have some more time to myself tonight. Maybe I’ll work a bit more on my FileReader project; then again, maybe I won’t. We’ll see.
